‘The tragic tenor of the era’ is what Anna Akhmatova called Blok. ‘Tenor’ is an idol of the public, a cult hero... That is exactly what A. Blok was in the eyes of his contemporaries. The time refracted in his poetry, Blok's very appearance - added the epithet ‘tragic’. This edition includes Blok's poems that made up the famous Third Book of Poems (1907-1916): the cycles ‘Terrible World’, ‘Retribution’, ‘Iambics’, ‘Harps and Violins’, as well as the poem ‘The Nightingale Garden’.
