Boris Pasternak did not keep diaries. He was not satisfied with their unformed chaos, characteristic of records kept for themselves. Letters took over their function, in which the personality of the poet and the features of his many-sided creativity were fully manifested. But first of all, this is the most important biographical document that reflected the stages of Pasternak’s life and the spirit of a beautiful, albeit difficult time. The book includes the correspondence of Boris Pasternak with his parents and sisters (1907–1925), Marina Tsvetaeva (1922–1935) and Ariadna Efron (1947-1955). These letters are characterized by openness and frankness, a striking intellectual depth. Their main theme is love. Pasternak's letters remain a high example of epistolary art, now completely lost.
