Tsenzura v BSSR: Poslevoennye gody 1944-1956 [Censorship in Postwar Belorussia]

The monograph is dedicated to the activities of censorship, by which the Soviet state exercised total control over life and public consciousness of its citizens, as an example of post-war Belarus. An attempt was made to reveal the forms, methods and characteristics of the work of censorship (ideological, state, military, economic and institutional), show the specifics of Glavlit (General Affairs literature management and publishing at the BSSR Council of Ministers) in close cooperation with the Communist Party and the Ministry of State Security of Belarus. The material for the study is based mainly archival documents, supplemented by information from scientific and popular publications, statistical books and periodicals. The author uses interviews, memories and testimonies of former censorship and media personnel, employees of Printers and Publishers, journalists, writers and artists who come into contact with the work Glavlit BSSR.
