In 1944, Soviet military intelligence operated in new conditions: the Red Army was on the offensive, the situation was changing rapidly, and the Soviet General Staff needed more and more information about the enemy. Soviet military intelligence officers were assisted in gathering information about Nazi Germany by military intelligence officers from Czechoslovakia, Denmark, France, Norway, the Netherlands, and other European countries occupied by German troops. This cooperation was effective, mutually beneficial, and selfless. In 1944, the USA and Great Britain, allies of the USSR in the anti-Hitler coalition, secretly joined forces to create atomic weapons. Military intelligence officers were able to obtain information about the creation of these weapons. This operation is also described in the book.
