This collection consists of adapted stories by the American writer O. Henry. The text of the stories is somewhat shortened, and difficult words and expressions are replaced by commonly used ones. The collection is supplied with exercises, an English-Russian dictionary, as well as a list of proper names and geographical names. The book is intended for students of senior classes of secondary schools, gymnasiums, lyceums, students of I-II courses of non-linguistic universities.
